Question Update config.file

Hey all,

I once came across a guide that showed you how to change the Server ID in the config.file on a LB server but I just can't seem to find it. Does anyone have a link for this guide or can post it in a reply please.

I'm wanting to swap some servers round on my panel so need to change the server ID number on the LB

"you can change server id in database/streaming_servers table, you also need to change server id in "config" file, use config.py script from pytools folder"

Would the below SQL query not work?

UPDATE `streaming_servers` SET id=2 WHERE id=9

This would changed the server ID from 9 to 2

No, the LB server has the server ID in an encrypted config file on the server, that need updating too.

Thanks but it doesn't tell me how to un-encrypt the config.file run the new LB info and then save it. I seem to rember having to upload the config.py from the main server first then run some SSH commands.

Use python to run the config.py. It will show you an error stating that you must follow with one of 2 commands.... DECRYPT or ENCRYPT. Maybe take the guidance others give you instead of being so quick to assume the info is not good enough.

Since you know so much, I don’t see the need to keep this thread opened as the info is there and your question has been answered. I will not type out the command because you should already know it!
