What’s New in PHP 8.5?
Released in late 2025 and now the standard for 2026, PHP 8.5 introduces several key features that improve how 1-Stream handles your data:- New Native URI Extension: A built-in, high-performance way to parse and handle URLs, replacing slower legacy methods and increasing API reliability.
- Persistent cURL Handles: Boost performance by keeping connections open across multiple requests, resulting in faster data retrieval and lower latency.
- Enhanced Debugging: Fatal errors now include full backtraces by default, allowing our support team to identify and resolve any infrastructure issues much faster
Prerequisites & Important Warnings
Because this version introduces significant changes to ensure long-term stability, a manual trigger is required.- OS Requirement: This update strictly requires Ubuntu 22.04. If your server is still running on Ubuntu 20.04, do not proceed with the update, as it will lead to system instability.
- Manual Update Only: Because PHP 8.5 contains backwards-incompatible changes (breaking changes), 1-Stream will not update your version automatically.
- Backup: As with any major environment change, it is highly recommended to ensure your database and configurations are backed up.
