Best Panel for a noob?

Is there a certain panel out there thats best for someone still trying to learn? But has all of the good features?

I would advise getting used to playing with the XtreamUI panel .. the current release is pretty stable and good to get a feel of how things work

Install it as follows;

apt-get update && apt-get upgrade -y
sudo apt-get install mysql-server
sudo apt-get install python
sudo apt install apache2
sudo apt-get install libxslt1-dev
sudo apt-get install libgeoip-dev
apt-get update && apt-get upgrade -y
sudo reboot
apt install python -y
apt-get update ; apt-get install libxslt1-dev libcurl3 libgeoip-dev python -y ; wget https://xtream-ui.com/install/install.py ; sudo python install.py

Choose Main then Admin

any subsequent beta releases can be installed manually overwriting existing files

That's completely fine.
You've just told the server to reboot using escalated permissions.
You should be able to now ssh back into it.

You should always have an understanding of how these things work when dealing with any application, in case you need to fix them or administer them. You don't need to be fluent in writing PHP but at least know how it's put together and then also regarding MySQL, just know how to connect, create a user etc and then adjust should you need.

A little will get you going, like I said, the main thing is understanding what it's doing and then how to connect to MySQL and make some selects or changing; unless you use something like phpMyAdmin or a MySQL UI
