Question Help needed..Frequent Rebooting Issues with XtreamUI and MAG Boxes

Hello everyone,

I’m hoping someone might have an idea about what’s going on. We’re running XtreamUI version 22b, and although it’s an older version, we’ve done some work on it, and it has been running smoothly for about four years now. All types of boxes and apps have been functioning perfectly until recently.

However, we’ve been experiencing increasing issues with Infomir MAG boxes—all models from the 254 to the 544. The boxes randomly freeze, and the TV screen locks up. Only a reboot fixes the issue, but this can happen up to 10 times a day, making it a real hassle. Factory resets and software updates (both up and down) haven’t resolved the issue.

Interestingly, around 90% of the MAG boxes work just fine on our system, but about 10% of them have this freezing issue. When we replace the affected MAG boxes with other brands, like Formuler, Qviart, or Firestick, they work without a problem.

This problem has only started occurring since summer 2024. I’m wondering if upgrading XtreamUI to the latest version (22f) would make any difference? Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a fix? Any help would be much appreciated!

anybody? this is so confusing... and more boxes need rebooting on and on.... only magboxes.....

is it happen only on some streams, Hevc? 1080p? ... which resolution? check also Hertz config in setting mag

Yes, I had same problem. I have a workaround for it but its not 100%.

our workaround is exchanging the magboxes to other brands and seem to be fine so.....

cloned mac addresses, when some one connects with a mac / authenticates it it freezes the other mag box we faced this issue a year or 2 back same problem.

thanks for that... and how did you fix this then please?
not sure if i understand, as we use only original magboxes, you mean others use cloned macnumbers and so it conflicts?

changed from portal /c/ to something random, and its Mac Scanners thats can cause it also when scanning. Mac Based authentication is very weak all mag boxes start with 00:1A:79 so the remainder is very small combination and u can generate all mac codes in a few seconds then just scan services looking for mac codes. even with ISP lock and STB locks on it will cause issues still.

but not fixed the issue......
any other suggestions?
