Hello
First I want to apologize if there is already a topic like mine. If there was, I didn't find it.

I would like to know if there is a way to make a backup or create a mirror of the VODs on the server. This week there was a problem with my balancer, it did not start the OS, only in recovery mode.

After numerous attempts at repair, I reinstalled the entire system and lost all the content I had.

Now I am redoing all the download work to insert again.

If you can setup rsync with the new server you should be able to clone the directories.

rsync -a username@remote_host:/home/username/dir1 place_to_sync_on_local_machine

I already lost all VODs, the folder was not accessible by the recovery mode. I need to know if there is a way to have this backup as a precaution, sync with google driver or some similar service. So if there is a problem and need to reinstall the OS, all the content would come back after a new sync.

So you can have a separate storage server and use rsync to have it as a backup or I believe there is a post on this site somewhere basically using Google drive or dropbox as the primary location for the vod content. (This is not a good thing to do)

I'm sure you can basically reverse that so you send the files to Google drive/dropbox

Yo man, im not sure if this will help in your case, but maybe. Check out method A.
