I am trying to get APK Easy Tool to work but every time I download it, it gives me an error when I decompile an app. I don't understand whats going on. I gave up on trying to use it a few months ago but then decided to come back to it since I found this website.

The error I get says "Decompile failed. Please read the log."

The log says, "
'"C:\Program Files (x86)\APK Easy Tool\Apktool\java.exe"' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file."

I have Java SE Development Kit 8 installed and its installed to the same drive as APK Easy Tool. I have tried the latest apktool 2.4.1 and the default 2.3.4 installed with APK Easy Tool. I have restarted the computer after installation and tried running APK Easy Tool as administrator.

I am running windows 10 pro 64 bit and have the 64 bit version of Java installed.

I was able to get this running on a laptop once a few months ago, but I don't have that laptop anymore and I can't get it working with my new laptop. I get the same errors.

Any help will be very much appreciated because I am tired of using my phone to build apps.

Uninstall your Java SE/DK and reinstall latest version. It is not seeing your java installation. Also uninstall APK Easy before you reinstall.

I uninstalled everything and reinstalled the latest version of Java as well as APK Easy Tool. Im still getting the same error. I did follow a tutorial on installing apktool and I have it in my Windows folder where the tutorial said to place it. When I run apktool in CMD, I get a list of commands so it knows that java is installed. But when I use APK Easy Tool, it just gives me the same error.

@jmp7624 hi what jar version are you using 2.4.1? will show in options general apktool verision, also what are you trying to decompile?

I actually just got it to work. I am using v2.4.1 but for some reason, the installation was trying to run a portable version of Java. I just moved the path to my Windows folder and it works for decompiling. Now I am getting a bunch of errors when signing the app after compiling. It says "Sign failed. Please read the log." When I read the log file, it says "Unsupported command: -w. See --help for supported commands."

Sorry for being noob at this stuff, but I'm trying to learn it.

Where is aapt located? I couldnt find it.

under sing: just have Sign APK after compile ticked and try that @jmp7624
I do have ticked, but I was able to get it to sign if I used the "Keep original signature" but I thought I wanted to use a generic signature?
