Question Xui one with gtx 1080ti

Hello, I have a server with graphics cards for encoding, but the XUI doesn't recognize my GPUs. I'm using Ubuntu 20.4 and the Nvidia 570 driver for Ubuntu. What could be the problem? Thanks

Hi. I never used consumer cards for nvenc, too many problems and they generally don’t fit in a server chassis, besides that have problematic extra power connectors that must be used that are not comparable with most servers. They use much more power as well. What you want is something like Tesla p4 or quadro p2000. You are only using nvenc so the rest of the 1080 is wasted. The cards I mention are only an example, many other Tesla and quadro cards do the job and cost the same money as the gtx card.
I can tell you the above cards work perfectly with xui one even threw VMware with gpu pass threw

It should be able to use it. Moreover, did you check if your server and its operating system have recognized the card? Is the driver installed correctly? You should be able to list the card and view its usage. If not it can’t work. If the driver is set up properly with your card you will be able to select it.
This is how.
Got to management > service setup > transcode profiles > create profile…… under the header GPU accelerated transcoding you will be able to find your gpu by the server name and hardware driver name (example hp whatever - Tesla xxx). If not, check its properly installed and the hardware recognized by the driver and os. Ssh to the server where it’s installed and in shell type nvidia-smi. A menu will pop up and show your card and its resources as well as power usage and some other parameters.
I used to have a gtx 1070 and it used to work. Not sure if it was in xui one or xtream ui back then. The downside is that I had to modify (butcher)the case of the card for it to fit the server (dell poweredge r720) and it also used to cause the server to crash quite often….
I replaced the card for a Tesla and never looked back. With consumer cards you will be limited to 3 simultaneous encodes if you do not use a modified driver, nvidia impose a cap on the official one. Make sure you get a cracked driver that has the limit removed. Just my 2 cents

I would first check the driver and hardware as I previously described, but failing that, unfortunately you will have to use cpu, which is power hungry and cpu intensive.
