im already using 5.1 version and runs smooth, hope this give better results,about restart faster its a dream come true

So I understand that ondemand and general zap are better as well. did you try this v7.0 or just 5.1? Also somebody spoke about it not working, can you confirm all works. thanks

well im unable to get this file cuz im not vip. my experience for well under 5.1 are perfect, maybe some people has issues because need to give root permission as chmod -R 777 and some of then just give 755 or 6

Hi. I am back after I tested it. I know that op recommends to install on both main and lbs but I have no streams on main so I don't see the point installing it there (may be somebody could elaborate on this). However I installed on 1 load balancer but I can not see much positive improvement except for, may be (I am not sure), slightly faster zap.
On the other hand, I have a handful of free streams that will not open with the new version 7.0 were with version 4.4 they work. I also do not see why this problem because the streams are normal h264.
I suspect there could be some missing libraries.
Is it compiled with all libraries as in v 4.4?
I have, for now, reverted to v4.4.
Is anybody having the same issue?

I am editing the post after trying v5.1 and v7.0.
I can not see a performance difference with either, except that the newer versions don't play dash while v4.4 that came with xui one does.
What performance gain am I supposed to see? thanks

Ffmpeg 7.0 is not good, especially not for the XUIONE panel. But if you still want to use it, install this library on every server, set up ffmpeg 7.0, and then test it:

Hi squallp. I am not pressed to use v7 or any version. I just need faster zap for on demand channels. V 7 worked but it does not play dash (as opposed to xui v4.4) When you say install on every server do you mean on every server that needs the benefits of it, or all servers otherwise it will not work? Above all, are there any benefits using the updated version?
On a different note, I’ve been trying to contact you in pm for a while after you requested me to do so (re xui adult pass on mag)

yes, I am using ubuntu 20. It works ok, but I am looking to get faster zap for ondemand channels. Xui one seems quite slow compared to other panels handling ondemand channels. zap is around 2.5 to 4 sec with a good source depending on distance between servers and distance between server and client.

I remember having the 7.0 version which works with dash, unfortunately i cannot confirm if it's the similar version coz my membership doesn't allow me to download it

Yep, 5.1, i saw ppl saying there's no changes, just take a look on stream errors logs, beginning on there start alot of changes, fasting zap, timing on restart, maybe still not working with MPD on Xui but now works with different cross extension like ?DVR and #Lcef and better running. Obviously always depends on what stream u use, if ppl wants make perfect poor streams or not stable like restream from restream, it will be difficult to play it fine. But that's not the case.

Is it required to install on main and lb(s) to take advantage of the upgrade? Or are the gains viable installing on just the lb were it’s needed? In other words using mixed versions of ffmpeg on the same system. If it’s possible to mix I would update most and leave one lb for the dash stuff. Thanks

i have installed on all LB, on a guide says all LB incluiding MAIN, i have done on v4.4 folder, just do a backup from original files or rename old ones like ffprobe.old and ffmpeg.old and add new ones, after give some rights as chmod 777 and all Lb where u been locate the new ones...

Who tried it, give us an opinion

I tried it but performance gains are negligible, slightly faster zap for online channels and nearly no difference with on demand channels. On the down side dash streams do not work on this ffmpeg. Probably because it was compiled without the dash option. I was able to install it on just 1 load balancer or many, even mix and match with original xui one ffmpeg on different machines. My conclusion is, it works, but is not noticeably better then original version.
