Question Whats better to protect the main - cloudflare or protection proxy shield

as there is more hacking going on then ever, lets see whats best to protect specially the main server. cloudflare is one thing most are using including ourselfs, but still there are attempts and they seem to get to the main server well some of them... whats better cloudflare or a protection proxy shield, there are some datacenters they offer protection shields now...

What I use is Cloudflare and between a proxy with firewall in order to check everything going beyond cloudflare.

You can’t solely rely on cloudflare. There are many more tricks to slow down hackers. For example, at a server level, you can implement fail2ban to automatically ban suspicious IPs. You can also add firewall rules to block all IPs except Cloudflares’….

Cloudflare, and at least a couple other protection services, not only do not catch everything, but there are bypasses available so the DDoS protection doesn't detect it. I'd probably put a DDoS-protected server behind Cloudflare (or ArvanCloud) to catch whatever they miss, filter everything, and pass only valid data to the true backend server hosted elsewhere.
