Hello everyone, i tried to google the answer to this question but i came out empty handed, i know the basic system requirements to run Shoutcast on my server, but in order to run several instances (ie 3 of them bound to the same IP but different ports), how much ram and cpu would i need to be able to do this without any performance problems?

Thanks

Hey @leo_dragons

first of all are you sure with "Shoutcast" , because a shoutcast server is for broadcasting audio streams and is in principle for Internet Radio Stations.
If you want user ist for Audio/Video (IPTV) streaming, there many different solution, like Streaming Server, IPTV Panels or as Middleware solutions.

All of them have different characteristics, However, an IPTV panel is the mostly used solution because it is very universal, easy to use, and supports almost all devices. You can add unlimited Loadbalancer, thus you can expand a system infinitely and have the option to manage everything with one system.

how much ram and cpu would i need to be able to do this without any performance problems?

Basically I recommend here server with powerful hardware with Intel Xeon CPU (min. E5 Series) and ECC RAM (min. 64, better 128 or 256GB),
You should calculate your required bandwidth for a smooth stream !!! This is one of the most important points that most people do know about it or made wrong calulations.

Thank you for your very detailed response. I didn't clarify, but AFAIK shoutcast server supposedly would run on 1GB RAM and a single-core 2ghz cpu. I'll keep your input in mind when setting up the machine. Thanks.
