Info Security concerns using iMPlayer (cracked versions)

Hey guys,

Cheers for checking out the thread, in this one I wanted to go over some Safety conserns with regards to iMPlayer. iMPlayer is a good IPTV app and stands alone in its capabilities as an all-in-one solution.. however.

As some of you will know, cracked versions of iMPlayer were recently knocked offline due to the owner of the Firebase closing up shop. A lot of people have been trying to get it working again and have tried a hand full of things to do so. One such thing is to replicate iMPlayers FireStore database - I did this.
It's only looking at the data in the database I have realised that something was going on...

- I doubt many knew this was going on either so I just wanted to bring to your attention.



I hope the image speaks for itself, each hash is a different user of the application, this applies to the 1.7.8.0 cracked version of iMPlayer as well as the 1.8.0.1 cracked version.
If you have purchased this application of a re-brander and they didn't give you access too the FireBase for that application - they more than likely have a lot of your information.

So replicating firestore worked? I assume api key for your firestore needs to be entered aswell and is that all or is there more to it?

Really looking to give this a shot.

I've had word from the iMPlayer developer that any DexProtexted versions of the cracked version contains Android Malware aswell as the op about them taking .m3u information.

Rebranders beware ?. Those who have already bought from the 'crackers' (You'll know who I mean) be careful and considerate of how you continue to approach the situation.

How do we know if version we had was Dex protected?

When you look inside the apk it will only have 1x Classes.dex and in /assets/ it will have 2x .bin files.
