Replacing webp file

Hi using easy apk tool on windows 10 pc in the res folder there are files called webp which are backgrounds I thought I could just create another webp file from a background I want and then rename to the same as destination file but it refuses to copy over drag over or cut over does anyone have any ideas as to how this file can be swapped out as I'm at a loss

just delete them and create new.

in android it doesn't look at the extensions of the image files only the name and check compatibility of the image extention

ex

splash.jpg
splash.png
splash.webp

these in androids eyes are the same file

Havnt had chance to try it but makes sense in theory lol will give it a go later when I get 5 mins
