The New Future, The Truth, And New Reality To The Age Old Question As To Whats The Best Device,

When shopping for new box, it must say specifically "ANDROID TV" and not just "ANDROID". This is important. Andy TV is a separate OS and is NOT open source! This is crucial because andy tv is a licensed OS. Google is not messing around no more. The andy tv license is VERY strict. But is also shows google is finally ready to be the go to OS for TV. Stay clear of amazon devices. They have decided NOT to sign the license. Which now means Fire is now just a advertising product. There is absolutely NO reason now to go w/ fire. ZERO. In my opinon, it is best to choose a box that runs on the same OS and ur mobile. Yes even apple. Reason being is the term "the internet of things" is now fully in play. At the very least Roku is ok, but with no mobile synch and not open source, it has its short comings. Roku is really just for simplicity. Beyond that its nothing more. But good news and important. Andy TV and 10 and Apple are releaseing the new codec called HS1. This is crucial. This codec is major. It will be a huge help for users that dont have or cant get high quality internet. This also means, all providers will not have to use up more trans coded and more band in order to help those with low quality internet speed. Its true fact, its kind of a waste to to push more band to help users on low end devices and low internet. Also means, the new strategy for providers is simple. They are now expecting the user device to be stronger and smarter in order to give user a GIGANTIC improvement of experience and less need of provider to help low end user too much. Heres the minor rub. It will now become common to replace ur box as often as ur moblie. About every 2 years. New updates simple wont work on chips that cant handle the update. Then add 5g and all will change again. Welcome to the new better experience world of high quality entertainment with a huge drop in buffering. PS If box shows just android, but looks like android tv..it is a clone and cant get OTA updates nor with it have the new licensed codec HS1. Hope this helps ur decision and new reality of our world to understand and how it effects ur experience.

Cheers!
