Also is this version of Kodi stripped back to its bones because I imagine this would hammer the driving force behind something running 4.4

I see, I know that anything Kodi 17+ requires Android 5.0+ but what has been changed to make it run on Android 4.4, What makes it superior?

I would be interested in this too. I have an old Matricom G-Box (S802) on 4.4 and only way I can get Kodi 17.x to work is Libreelec.

I don't know what was changed ... I found this application on the web and I've been working with it for a long time and it works perfectly
