Hey everyone, just wanted to share something I’ve been dealing with lately in one of my IPTV panel scripts.

I had a tool pulling metadata from third-party sources. Everything was working fine during testing, but once I pushed it live, I started getting random blocks — some requests worked, some got 403 errors. After some debugging, I realized it wasn’t a code issue. It was the IPs I was using.

For a while, I was relying on cheap shared datacenter proxies. But turns out, some of these IPs had poor reputation or were already flagged, especially when making repetitive requests.

I switched to a provider that offers more stable and less-flagged IPs — I won't name-drop here, but if you search around for residential IPs with location targeting, you’ll find a few options. The one I ended up using has been quietly effective and offers good control via dashboard/API.

I’m not affiliated, just sharing because I know others might be facing similar issues in IPTV tools, scripts, or crawlers.

Would be interested to hear what others are using to keep their tools running smoothly without random request blocks.

Hi Vanika,

thanks for sharing your experience, I really related to it because I’m facing a similar issue.

I’m using a script to register devices and get tokens from a TV platform (Movistar+). I run it from a VDS with a proxy and I’m getting 403 and 429 errors from the WAF/F5 (“The requested URL was rejected / Forbidden / Too Many Requests”), even though the code itself is correct. I saw you mentioned IP reputation and random API blocks, which is exactly what I’m seeing.

I also noticed you referenced *** a residential proxy provider and I’d like to ask you, if you don’t mind sharing:

  1. Are you still using *** for sensitive APIs (streaming, DRM, etc.)?
  2. What type of IPs have worked best for you in practice?
    • Residential rotating or static?
    • Always the same IP, or rotating within a range/country?
  3. Did you see a clear difference in the number of 403/429 errors when moving from datacenter proxies to *** or other residential ones?
  4. Do you usually limit requests per minute/device or add delays to avoid triggering WAF rules?
Any advice on how you pick and manage IPs to avoid these blocks would be really helpful.

Thanks a lot for your time.

Best regards,
