My nephew who is deaf has a service that he is overjoyed with but keeps messaging me regarding subs on live TV and VOD. Are there any services out there that cater for deaf and hard of hearing?

I hate for your question to go without an answer.

I have tried and tested a good number of services but never came across one whom would specifically use descriptive channels etc.

Your best bet is to ask for a trial off a few and ask them directly.

To expand further on this subject, I'm not familiar with other server software but for XC there is no option to have subtitles on the channel except vod and believe this would have to be done at the channel provider level.

This potentially is a nice wee niche that you could start up and supply to them.

You’re right for the most part but I would clarify that this has to be done at the stream supplier level as many people operate as “provider’s” but really are just restreamers of restreamers.

@iptvayr mp4 can contain subtitles encoded into the stream, so as long as the source is encoding the stream properly you don't need to give direct subtitle file to the stream, so the panel doesn't really matter. As @urgodfather said, it will be down to the supplier and how they encode their streams.

Thanks for your reply’s it will stop me nagging the provider now I know it’s not something he can deal with.
