Question Catchup vs VOD

So have to ask why some still use Catchup, when we have VOD that is always updated? Isnt it pretty much the same thing without the commercials.

Catch-up is mainly used for live TV for me like events or sports. Also things the misses might watch like coronation street etc that aren't on VOD.

For movies no my provider doesn't even have sky movies on catch-up as most is available on VOD if not it can be added.

so u want a tivo experiance.. .. from a provider stand point, i prefer vod so not eating up a server and resources as it requires more connections to record. But each of their own. Just wondering and like to see other POV on it.

with Catchup, a program is only stored for a short time and then overwritten or deleted again.
VOD is mostly stored permanently.

the main purpose for "catch up" is for expats to access everyday programs on BBC or ITV who cannot access iplayer or ITV hub outside of the UK for example
